Our team had partnered with a publishing company to collect as many as 1,963 first-person narratives from alumni of ASU’s Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication.

Using this vast bank of narratives, I reviewed and selected stories to retell in an email warming series aimed at reengaging these alumni with their alma mater. I framed these narratives within a lens that aligned with upcoming events and news at the university — giving them a timely and relevant feel.

This audience was largely disengaged with the university. As a result of these communications, their participation rate increased by 11%.
